Our observation
Modern education equips young adults with technical skills but leaves them intellectually adrift, without the foundational ideas necessary to understand the world, society, and themselves. Critical questions about meaning, justice, and knowledge are either sidelined or reduced to formulaic answers that fail to inspire deep thinking.
In an age of information overload, the ability to think clearly, converse meaningfully, and learn independently has become more urgent than ever.
Our
initiative
Felo Muda is an initiative for youth to cultivate a culture of knowledge where inquiry, dialogue, and shared intellectual life thrive. Through a regular online newsletter (Balai Letters), monthly discussions (Ilmu Larut Malam), and a peer learning circle (Marginalia), we foster a community that values ideas and their consequences.
More than just an initiative, this is an effort towards reclaiming the culture of knowledge—where thinking is not a burden but a way of life.
Join our initiative
Through Felo Muda Initiative, cultivating a culture of knowledge is a shared pursuit—rooted in conversation, reflection, and disciplined inquiry. Ilmu Larut Malam fosters deep, open-ended discussions in a laidback overnight setting allowing ideas to unfold organically, while Marginalia sharpens critical thinking through structured dialogue and thoughtful exchange, challenging participants with text—and each other—with clarity and depth. For those ready to commit to serious intellectual work, Felo Muda offers a fellowship in reading, thinking, and writing, culminating in the creation of an original non-fiction work.
The Youth Reference Library provides access to thought-provoking works, while Kedai Buku Jendela, our independent bookstore, offers a curated selection of used books on thought, history, and religion.
Join us in reclaiming thinking as a way of life—because the pursuit of knowledge begins with you.
